It all depends on the individual location. I have restrictions and laws that I must adhere to but as I hold a PfCO from the CAA this gives me permission to fly in a lot more locations than the average hobbyist.
Some locations would require more paperwork to organise such as near to an active runway or airport. This is something we would discuss together and whether the airports authorities would grant permission. It is usually fine but would be subject to their times which we would have to liaise together.
Most jobs can be carried out once all the paperwork has been completed.
Locations with stricter rules can be worked around and as a CAA qualified pilot I can work with other agencies or people in order to be granted permission to fly and shoot in specific locations not everyone can.
Everything is weather dependant, drones cannot fly in rain due to obvious reasons and each aircraft varies in the amount of wind speed that they can fly in.
All jobs will be subject to this clause and may have to be rescheduled a day before the original set date.
My focus is on aerial photography and videography but yes, I can personally do some light ground-based work using a Nikon DSLR and an Osmo for smoother moving shots.
For anything more in-depth then I have 2 production companies I work closely with, Conor Tychowski and Arrowsmith Productions. Depending on the job and your requirements I can organise ground-based work with production teams who are fully equipped with their own high-end equipment.
Prices are on a job by job basis, based on the type of work outlined by your (the client) requirements.
Some locations bring higher risks than others so may involve additional paperwork and liaison with 3rd parties.
Once a request is received, I will research the location and surrounding area and quote accordingly. An itemised quote will consist of:
Preperation/paperwork costs and job cost.
Any premium costs; night flight rate for example.
If the location is not your own land/property then any fees incurred for use via a third party, if applicable.
Half day and full day rates available, please contact for more information.
